Bill and Marilyn Fair are missionaries to the country of Haiti. They are working with existing Christian Churches are also starting new churches in Haiti to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are equipping Haitians with bibles and other teaching materials so Christian Haitians can have a New Testament Church according to the bible. They provide food and clothing for the Haitians that are in need. They are in the process of building a new site that includes the church, mission house and the college. The church is built and a basketball court is furnished. They are currently raising money for the mission house and a work shop. Once these buildings are finished the building process will start for the bible college.
The Lord led Jack and Anne Snavely, founders of Alpha Christian Children's Home, through many circumstances, to children's ministry. They established a Christian home in Kansas for at-risk, needy, and homeless children in the early 1970s. They began receiving children in 1972. Later an additional 165 acres was purchased for expansion. Children are placed at Alpha due to many types of problems including past or ongoing abuse, homelessness, neglect, death in the family, delinquency, academic difficulty, behavioral problems resulting from broken or dysfunctional homes, poverty, family incarceration, substance abuse and temporary shelter needs. The array of issues and needs that the children may have to deal with in their young lives can seem endless. Usually Alpha will have up to ten children to love unconditionally and care for depending on the individual situations involved.
Discipling the Bible-less. Dan's call to missions came when he was in 9th grade but the Lord waited another 23 years before his wife Shawn had the same call. Their family believes in the Great commission and considers it an honor to be included in this call. The Lord has opened the door for them to serve the people of Vanuatu, a small island chain in the South Pacific, with over 70 languages that do not have the word of god in their heart language. Joining a Pioneer Bible Translator team, they will work to provide the people of Vanuatu the same access that we have had to the transforming power of God's word.
Manhattan Christian College was founded in 1927 as a four-year undergraduate institution of higher education. Originally named Kansas Bible College, it received it original charter from the State of Kansas in 1929 under the name Christian Workers University. The campus was purposefully located in the center of Manhattan, Kansas directly across the street from Kansas State Agricultural College, now Kansas State University. This proximity to a major university has provided students with unique educational opportunities as well as a combination of cultural, recreational, and evangelistic opportunities.
