Elders Meeting Minutes
June 3, 2020

Present: Elders: Lyle Alley, David Allen, Paul Davault, Ron Parrett
     Guests:  Bill Dyer

Reading of God’s Word - Prayer
Lyle read from 1 John 4:20  about Loving one another. He tied it into the current
affairs of the US and how until the nation becomes color-blind, racism and
     prejudice will always be present.

Reading of Minutes from May Meeting -
(The Elders had received the minutes from May’s meeting and they were
approved via text messages. (Kay was absent - Cataract Surgery)

Financial Report - Look at May 2020
Approximate Building Loan Balance is $210,703 after June Payment.
Noted that the month of May ended in the black by over $10,000.

Old Business:
Virtual Church will continue. Discussed the new equipment that has been
purchased to make the virtual service possible.

New Business:

The Winters moved out
Lyle reminded the board that Brandon and family moved to Mississippi, where
he took on a new job.  The garage at the parsonage still has a lot of the Winter’s
belongings. They will be back in June to finish moving their possessions.

Opening Sunday School
The Elders board decided to discuss in July the opening of Sunday School.
We want to be safe about putting kids and adults in more confined quarters for
Sunday School.

Graduate Bibles
Quinn Allen and Makenzie Kennedy are the two graduating seniors to receive
the study Bible.  We will try to contact someone to engrave the names on the
     Bibles.

Youth
Discussion was about keeping the leadership of the youth in house. We feel
that the kids will know the leaders and know that the leaders will be there from
start to finish.  David said that Ange would be helping in leading the youth.

Fathers Day
The Fellowship Committee suggested that we wait to do something for Mother’s
Day and Father’s Day at a later time when we can come back together when it's
safe due to COVID-19.  When it's safe we will have a party!

Constitutional Changes

Lyle handed out the Preamble of our current constitution and a discussion was
held on changes needed in the Preamble.

Lyle pointed out that a Statement of Faith has never been included in our
present constitution.  He shared Faith Statements from other Christian
churches as examples to look at as we move forward in creating our own.  It
was decided for each elder to read, and research the Bible for what needs to
be added to the Statement of Faith for our church.

The Elders will continue to go through the current constitution, cleaning up the
language and bringing it up to date with what is currently done.
